When and where is the Contest and Fan Convention taking place?
The contest and convention will take place on 4th 5th & 6th January 2013.
The entire contest and convention will be held at The Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, Birmingham.
The main stay accommodation will be at The Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, Birmingham.
All four qualifying rounds will take place at The Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, Birmingham.

• Heat A - Friday 4th January 2013 (Evening)
• Heat B - Saturday 5th January 2013 (Afternoon)
• Heat C - Saturday 5th January 2013 (Evening)

Finals - Sunday 6th January 2013 (Evening)

Gospel Contest separate to the main contest taking place on the afternoon of Sunday 6th January 2013. See below for further details.
Novice Contest takes place on the afternoon of Friday 4th January 2013. Winner will qualify for Heat in Main Contest.
Under 14's contest separate to the main contest taking place on the afternoon of Sunday 6th January 2013. See below for further details.
The European Elvis Championships 2013 is open to all professional Elvis Tribute Artists from or residing anywhere in Europe and the Commonwealth.

How do I register as a contestant for the main contest ?
i. By printing and posting form available at this website.

Please note that all contestants must sign the ‘Contest Agreement’ to participate in the contest. This agreement is part of your registration form.
All performers must register for the contest.

GOSPEL CONTEST FREE TO ENTER (Gospel Contest - Limited to 20 Contestants due to time constraints)

Heat Info
• You can perform any two Elvis songs of your choice to backing track accompaniment.
• Elvis medley's are allowed as long as Elvis performed it in the exact same medley song content.
• Contestants will be informed of their heat confirmation at least 7 days before contest start.
• Running order of contestants for heats will be drawn at least 7 days before contest start..
• Please be sure to make yourself available at least one hour prior to your contest heat
• Contestants musical backing must be in Mini-Disc or a Microsoft Windows compatible file type. CD's are not permitted. In the event of a contestant bringing CD's to the contest be aware they will not be used and a contestant will be given the option to choose from the backing tracks provided by Elvis Contests Ltd. Musical backing tracks are also available upon prior request.
• Backing tracks must be clearly labelled and cued up ready to perform. Please note if your track includes a silent pause this will be played. No intro or outro music is permitted.

Live Final
Contestants will gain entry to the live final from either of the following:
i. The sixteeen contestants with the highest scores from the combined four heats qualify for the final.
ii. Pre-qualified by gaining 1st 2nd or 3rd at the January 2012 Main Contest
Important Info:
• The Contest Grand Final will take place on the evening of Sunday 6th January 2013.
• Finalists will perform two songs with band and the list of band songs available will be displayed at the event.
• Please be sure to make yourself available at least one hour prior to the Contest Grand Final.
• Running order for Grand Final will be drawn morning of Sunday 8th January 2012.
• All finalists must use the Elvis Contests Ltd designated house band.

Please note overall winner of the Grand Final will be asked to perform directly after the results are announced, and in doing so receives the honour of closing the entire event.

How will the contest be judged ?
Contest will be judged by select panel on the following:

Each of the four separate judging categories listed below.

Vocals will count for 40% of the total score.
Appearance, stage presence and overall performance each count as 20%.

The judging categories are as follows:

• Vocals - Overall singing ability (40% of total score)
• Appearance - Ability to create a look and style that well represents Elvis (20% of total score)
• Stage Presence - Ability to re-create the charisma Elvis created when performing on stage (20% of total score)
• Overall Performance - Quality of the overall performance as a whole (20% of total score)

Gospel Contest ?
• Contestants entering the ‘main contest’ have the option of being entered into the ‘Elvis Gospel Contest’ FREE OF CHARGE.
• Gospel Contest is a professional ETA only contest and limited to twenty contestants only and will be available to the first twenty contestants that apply.
• Gospel contest will take place on the afternoon of Sunday 8th January 2013.

• Novice contest will take place on the main arena stage.
• A novice contestant agrees to have never performed an Elvis show as an ETA be it paid or un-paid.
• Running order of contestants will be made on the day.
• Winner of Novice Contest will gain entry into a Main Contest heat.
• Contestants musical backing must be in Mini-Disc or a Microsoft Windows compatible file type. CD's are not permitted. In the event of a contestant bringing CD's to the contest be aware they will not be used and a contestant will be given the option to choose from the backing tracks provided by Elvis Contests Ltd. Musical backing tracks are available upon prior request.
• Novice contestants will perform 1 Elvis song of their choice.
• Trophy for first place winner.
